First Murder Of 2013

A man in his 50s was found murdered in Egilsstaðir on Tuesday night, Vísir reports.

Karl Jónsson was found dead on the balcony of his apartment. An autopsy reveals that he bled to death.
Police have a young man in custody related to the matter. The suspect is a resident of the building and caused a disturbance that same night, demanding neighbours for alcohol and tobacco. The suspect had clothes with blood that police believe to be the victim’s.

This is the first reported murder of 2013. On average, there are two murders in Iceland per year.
