Sumie Nagano (SE)

Call it modesty, call it shyness if you wish, no matter which, Sumie has always been careful about sharing her artistic creations with the world. She produced her first solo recordings at home, featuring her own vocals and guitar playing, releasing them to a wider audience with great timidity. She then took an even more revolutionary step as an artist and made her songs available online (To great acclaim). Now, several years later, Sumie is still careful about letting us take part in her work. Those not lucky enough to visit the Airwaves Festival will have to wait until December 2013 to hear her music. That’s when her debut self-titled album will be released by record label Bella Union – an album recorded live in Berlin with producer Dustin O’Halloran and pianist/composer Nils Frahm. Meanwhile, you’re welcome to try Sumie’s exquisite and exclusive single ‘Let’s get Lost,’ produced by Henryk Lipp.
