Dark Music Days by Nanna Dís 1Dark Music Days Festival
Dark Music Days has been running since 1980, and it’s one that uses the darkness to shine the spotlight on the intriguing world of Iceland’s contemporary and experimental composers. Today’s programme includes CAPUT ensemble, Lindsay Vickery’s “Silent revolution” and Þórunn Gréta Sigurðardóttir’s “Orðin/Words”
-Harpa, Jan 29-Feb 01, festival pass for 11,900 ISK.

Q4U / Börn
The rad post-punkers Q4U and doom punkers Börn join forces to stage a grand, crusty show for all us punkers out there. So get ready your torn jeans and studded leather jackets, but before you go, see if you can find Börn’s self-titled album. Our reviewer really really liked it!
-Dillon at 22:00, free admission!

Saturday

komasvo-sport#KOMASVO’
Six Icelandic artists collaborate on an exhibit that examines in great detail the intersection of art, sports and the free market through a competitive experiment that examines how the market influences art. In true reality-TV fashion, the pieces that don’t get enough attention will be removed one by one until only a single piece remains.

Petur BenPétur Ben
Singer-songwriter Pétur Ben (the one that wrote that moving article about companies exploiting artists during Iceland Airwaves for free shows) plays his first concert at Mengi. Expect an intimate show that pulls on all your heartstrings.
-Mengi at 21:00, admission: 2,000 ISK

KK-and-BandKK Band
Singer-songwriter KK reunites with his old band to deliver some old folk hits from days gone by.

‘A posteriori: House, Sculpture’

A posteriori, or “from what comes after,” is a selection of artworks that are influenced by or reference buildings. The artists involved in the exhibition have used existing or fabricated architecture to create new works. This is the exhibition’s final week.
