Culture Pick: National Museum’s History Of The Earth
Sam O'Donnell

A new and exciting exhibition opens today at the National Museum of Iceland called “History of the Earth“, starting Saturday at 16:00. The Minister of Education, Lilja Dögg Alfreðsdóttir, will open the exhibition.

This exhibition will focus on the artefacts and remains that were unearthed at Hofstaðir over the last three decades, including a large banquet hall dating back to the age of the Vikings, and an ancient cemetery. The bones excavated there provide an interesting glimpse into the lives and circumstances of the people who lived at that time.

If you like history, Vikings, or museums, you’re gonna love this exhibition. If you have an annual pass for the National Museum, you can get in free. If not, they’re only 2,000 ISK, so what are you waiting for? Get it!
