A passenger on board a flight from Gdansk is now in police custody due to attacking other passengers while drunk on board.
RÚV reports that Suðurnes Police arrested the passenger shortly after landing. He was reportedly very intoxicated, attacking passengers and crew during the flight.
He was taken into custody and driven to the local police station to sleep it off.
This marks the third such incident this month alone, although the previous two occurred at Keflavík Airport.
Incidences of drunk flyers causing trouble became so common some years ago that a term was invented for it: flugdólgur, or “air hooligan”. Some previous offenders were so bad they were only allowed to fly again with a chaperon.
