It’s that time of year again when the weather Gods can’t make up their minds on what meteorological agents they should unleash on the country. Will there be sun? Will there be snow? Will there be rain? How about all at once?

We have an odd week ahead in Iceland, so be prepared for all contingencies.

While a bit of snow has already fallen on the streets of Reykjavík, temperatures will oscillate between 0 and 4 in the capital area tomorrow, with a full day of snow and rain. Those travelling to the East will have more luck, with a cold but sunny day from Vík all the way to Raufarhöfn.

Rain, snow and sun will however be rolling over Iceland at regular intervals for the next few days, especially on Thursday.

What you can do to avoid a late spring cold that will stay with you until June is to dress in layers and check the weather forecast from the Icelandic Met Office every day. Safe travels!
