Grapevine was out exploring the north eastern tip of Iceland yesterday when a snow storm hit. Starting out from Vöpnafjörður, the landscape changed fast under flurries of heavy snow. We were able to take a look at the Ásbyrgi canyon, before a road closure sent us detouring down the western side of Dettifoss. A park ranger was stationed there telling people that a heavier blizzard was coming.
Today, heavy snow is forecasted in much of northern and eastern Iceland. Take extra care in checking the weather report and the road conditions before setting out anywhere if you’re in these areas.
